TFX Engine Technology Inc. can provide pressure sensors from any pressure sensor manufacturer, on a global basis. Typically we concentrate on two main brands of pressure sensors based on experience, performance and cost. All sensors are manufactured specifically for engine applications. Each sensor is connected to the customer's pressure analyzer and tested as a complete system prior to shipping.

Before accepting any brand/type of sensor for resale we test the sensor side by side in an engine with a top quality research style sensor. The test sensor must generate results which are very near to the research sensor values in order to be accepted.

Instrumented sparkplugs where the pressure sensing end of the sensor is mounted outside the combustion chamber near the hex of the plug are offered for sale by some companies and should be avoided. These fall into the category of unacceptable sensors.

Acceptable instrumented spark plugs must have the pressure sensing end of the sensor located at the electrode end of the spark plug, otherwise the results can range from mildly inaccurate to extremely inaccurate.

A wide variety of sensors are available with varying dimensions and custom options are available for a very reasonable cost. A small sample of sensors is shown below.
