Engine Pressure Analysis

Our pressure analysis equipment provides a "window" into the combustion chamber, as well as the intake and exhaust ports. The internal effect of any engine modification (good or bad) is accurately and instantly displayed on a per cylinder basis, providing an obvious advantage to the engine builder/tuner.

The customer can see exactly what is happening inside the combustion chamber in terms of pressures, bulk mixture temperatures and most importantly how fast and how well the air-fuel mixture is burning. The instantaneous pressures in the intake/exhaust ports can be used to optimize the cam, intake and exhaust systems to maximize cylinder filling and optimize scavenging during overlap.

Pressures, burn rates, HP and torque are displayed for each and every instrumented cylinder and for every combustion cycle. The data can be viewed one combustion cycle at a time or in a variety of formats which display the entire test on one screen.

Unlike some types of tuning equipment such as A/F ratio meters, pressure analysis tuning allows the engine tuner to make successive improvements to the engine. The easy gains in power can be undertaken first and additional improvements undertaken as time permits. We offer as much or as little data analysis assistance as the customer requires.
